The Netherlands Embassy seeks to involve the private sector in development projects funded by the Netherlands as well as in projects of co-operating partners. The strength of these development programs is that they also function as a gateway for entrepreneurs. As such the Embassy is able to position Dutch knowledge and expertise to contribute to important issues in Bangladesh.

Netherlands Embassy in Bangladesh elected best worldwide

Every two years the private sector votes on the quality of economic services provided by Dutch Embassies worldwide. We are proud to announce that the prestigious Embassy prize was awarded to our Embassy in Dhaka this year. The Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands thanks all clients and businesses that have provided valuable feedback and have cast their vote in our favor. The Embassy team is grateful for the recognition and will give follow-up to all the recommendations made.

Throughout 2013 and 2014 the Embassy team has been working on the transition of a traditional aid approach towards responsible trade and investment methodology. The development cooperation program also aims at including private sector (co-funding), boosting production and creating jobs. The key word is partnership. In 2014 we facilitated at three trade missions, sustained a digital trade platform, did several market scans and have involved more companies in our development cooperation activities. The Embassy strives to constantly improve its service delivery to the private sector. Examples are the monthly business newsflash and the unique partnership with Nyenrode Business University. Still we want to, and will do more.
